These are two urinals from a McDonald's in Old Montreal.  Notice that there is no way to flush them manually.  For some strange reason, these urinals flush automatically on a timer.  I saw the same devices at a different restaurant, and it was quite disconcerting to go to the bathroom while the urinal was flushing!

It seems like a waste of water to me, but maybe those Montrealers know something about toilets that I don't.
